High Definition Laser Scanning

Laser scanning can be used for a multitude of purposes, at a variety of scales. The basic function of a laser scanner is to obtain distance measurements at a high precision and accuracy. A High Definition Laser Scanner captures millions of 3D point measurements from a stationary position, resulting in a 3D image of its surroundings. Specialized software can accurately align multiple scan positions into a more comprehensive data set called a Point Cloud. By scanning a site or building from multiple angles and viewpoints, a more complete Point Cloud can be generated. See the embedded point clouds in the viewers below to get a better sense of what the data looks like up close, or watch the animated fly-through videos for a more guided experience.
